The Blue Carbon Collaborative is an international community of stakeholders that works together to align and advance blue carbon initiatives.
Blue carbon is carbon captured by photosynthesizing plants and algae in coastal ecosystems that are buried and stored in the sediment for thousands of years. As a collaborative, we integrate blue carbon into policy, form partnerships, hear from global experts, collaborate to expand research, and elevate blue carbon ecosystems' multi-benefit role in carbon mitigation and coastal adaptation. Our members range from local to international researchers, communicators, practitioners, and leaders, who join us to both learn and share their knowledge about blue carbon solutions. We hold quarterly meetings and are hosted through a partnership between WILDCOAST and Coastal Quest.
